Some Possibilities to Improve Exploration Results: an Integretive Approach to Unconventional Targets Deliniation

Section: Problems of Energenetics Development in Ukraine
Language: Ukrainian
Abstract: Recently, in the Dnieper-Donets basin the exploration trends shifted towards the searching of secondary reservoirs at depth over 4000 m in Carboniferous sediments. To decrease geological risks and to optimize the exploration efforts an integrated approach to predict secondary reservoir within siliciclastic and carbonate sediments was developed and implemented. The approach is based on attribute analysis of the seismic data calibrated by well logs, petrophysical data and facies analysis. Further steps include the hydrodynamic and geochemical modeling. The approach was implemented foe several targets. For instance, it gave the possibility to construct maps of reservoirs distribution in carbonates on Khortitska, Snitynska, and Bilichivska prospects to identify the decompaction zones at the Seliukivskie field. A prominent anomaly in seismic record has been revealed in an apical part of the West Shebelinka structure below Moscovian sediments. It was interpreted as the decompaction zone which may form a huge multilevel reservoir.
Key words: oil and gas exploration, attribute analysis, seismic data, secondary reservoir.
